A COMMUNITY OF FAITH,
COMMITTED TO KNOWLEDGE & SERVICE
We believe it takes a village to help our students reach their full potential. We rely on the faith and support of our faculty, staff, and parents to help create a nurturing environment where students can grow, learn, and succeed. We teach our Lions to think critically, value knowledge, rely on faith, and have confidence in their abilities.
WHO WE ARE
St. Mark is a fully accredited, co-ed, K-8, Catholic school located in Huntersville, NC (a suburb of Charlotte). St. Mark is an inclusive, welcoming community for students, and families of all faiths and backgrounds.
Our Mission
We, St. Mark Catholic School, in partnership with the parents of our students, are committed to providing an authentic Catholic environment that develops every student spiritually, socially, academically, emotionally and physically. Through learning, formation of virtue, authentic friendships, and our communal celebration of the sacraments, we help our students discover the beauty of truth, and encourage the use of their God-given talents in the service of others.
Our Goal
We seek to give each student a solid lifelong foundation of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, service, and academic excellence.
Our History
St. Mark opened in August of 2003. The school consisted of classes from Kindergarten through sixth grade. The following year, seventh grade was added and, in 2005, we grew to include eighth grade. The school is now complete with the capability of three classrooms of each grade K-8.
Our Beliefs
- All students can learn.
- We value each student as an individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
- Effective learning occurs when students know that they are safe and nurtured.
- Classroom activities and assessments provide opportunities for students to display achievements in a meaningful context.
- Actively engaged students with ownership in the learning process learn best.
- Because students learn in a variety of ways, they should be presented with different learning experiences.
- Respectful interactions between peers and adults help to enhance the whole child.
- Continuous improvement based on cohesive decision-making fosters a dynamic school community.
